No, I don't like discussing politics, but I do think it's important.

In fact, I think it's necessary.

I think things need to be talked about sometimes.

I don't like that political talk with regards to Burning Man always ends up in a flame war. I've seen a lot of name calling and clique-ness on other boards, so I'm hoping that people can speak freely here without insult. It would be nice if we all could get along.

I love discussing politics.....and religion (actually theology more so).

I like discussing politics if the discussion is constructive.

Discussing religion has never went well with me (probably because each time the other person was trying to convert me rather than just discuss).

Discussing politics stresses me out, especially with my friends, because they tend to be better informed on most of the topics. But I really like listening and learning to become better informed myself :)

There are no sacred cows. All of this comes down to being willing to hear and express many views not just as a matter of respet but also as a reminder that we have not igured it all out and all have something to learn.

Politics are okay to discuss, the dangerous topic I find is religion. Some people don't like to have their "faith systems" challenged at all and are not openminded to new ideas......
