hello again. i'm back from a long hiatus from the world. lots of things have been happening in my life that have kept me away. my oldest brother died of a massive coronary in early feb. he was only 53. left behind 3 teenage kids. then my father died in early march at 76. i did the eulogy iat both funerals. one of my oldest freinds in the world suicided in late march. my step mom has end stage emphasema. she wont make it to christmas. hell, i dont think she will make it to october. in may i was diagnosed with severe depression. been taking meds for that. they have helped a bit in dealing with all this crap.

i had no idea if i would make it to the burn this year, but last week i was gifted a ticket, so i guess i'm going. one good thing came out of the funerals. my youngest brother and i have reconciled after a 22 year rift. he has decided (after prompting from me) to attend this years burn with me. i am really looking forward to this years temple burn. i need to let alot of things go.

i'm only telling ya'll this cause i feel the need to explain my absence. i'm NOT looking for a pity party. in fact i hate that. i never know what to say when someone else tells me sad stuff, except "i'm sorry". just wanted to let you all know i'm back and not quite as argumentative as before. maybe. heh.

I too suffer from depression, so I know what kind of a hole that can be to climb out of. I hope your meds do the trick. After 6 years I finally found a combination that works great.

Cool that you are bringing your brother. That should be a crazy event. Is he as grumpy as you?

oh, my bro says that he is the "grumpy slightly younger bastard". AND we just found out today that he may not be able to make it to this years burn. bummer. well, it is sorta last minute for him anyway, so i guess we will start working on him for next year.

howdy again.

been awhile. went to the burn with my brother. it was good. i'm looking at the "last visited" and it says 8-14. sorry bout that. first got too excited about the burn and prep and ... well, you all know. then got back and had a bit of post playa depression. started to get over that and step mother died. thats when i found out step mother screwed me out of my fathers property. all i have that was his is a coffee cup i gave him for christmas a few years ago. funny thing was i was at her bedside when she passed, while her daughter was at home sleeping. her daughter got everything. not gonna fight it, kharma will slap step sister upside the head soon. there is no doubt in my mind that her son (spoiled rotten brat) will take care of it for me.

i quit tribe.net about 2 weeks ago. its getting really nasty over there. kept a couple of tribes not related to BM. quit all the BM related tribes. what the hell is going on with these people? is insanity contagious?

Yeah, I started reading everything BM-related I could find my virgin year (2004), and I quit the BM tribe before I even went because of all the fighting and bullshit and trolling and ... etc etc.

You know.


Too fucking stupid and draining- I was actually questioning whether I even wanted to go to this thing I'd been wanting to do for years, because of the impression I was getting from those people!



The nice thing I realized after I quit that and the eplaya is:


The people who have the time to play that stupid game *aren't* the people who are, say, busy in their garages building cool art to make everyone happy! ... so they don't count, anyway. <grin>

yes I agree about the goings on with the BM tribe on Tribe.net.

I'm still there because frankly, it's the biggest on-line burner community there is, even bigger than e-playa, so it behooves me to post BURNcast announcements there.

But I gotta tell ya: that tribe sure ain't da playa! Where is the love?
