I am in great need of some new musical inspiration.

What/Who do you folks listen to when you're in a funky mood? What/Who do you love to play on those quiet raining days, or when you're rocking in your organic garden?

What/Who is playing on your 8-track right now?

Part of me wants to be embarrassed, but hell I'll admit it, I *like* it!

I'm listening to web radio right now and they are playing Sheen Easton, Morning Train. It makes me want to dance!

Right now I am listening to one of my favorite guitarists, Tommy Conway, a madman gyspy jazz player.

I've been a house head for the better part of 10 years now, so during random periods of the day I'll be listening to some form of house music. Usually mellower chillout variants to start the day out. However, because I listen to alot of public radio I also listen to whatever classical variant they're playing at the time. I'm a big Mozart fan.

As the day progresses it's time for something a little different and one of my favorite internet radio channels is Soma FM (http://www.somafm.com/) Check out Secret Agent! Very funky, very smooth, very secret agent.

Along those lines is Helios Jive who most burners will be familiar with. I love those guys' music.

Later in the day I generally switch to either progressive house or breaks to get my blood flowing. Some of my favorite Shoutcast channels (though also available on other streaming sites) are:

Proton Radio
Frisky Radio
BreaksFM
DNBRADIO
Bassdrive
Jungletrain.net

But alot of times I'll just surf a genre to see if there's any new talent on the airwaves.

When all else fails, it's time for Buena Vista Social Club.

And when I really need a break, I bust out one of my didges and play my own shit!

For some reason (called the RIAA) I rarely buy CDs anymore.

Glad you liked it Mutty!

I too love Seceret Agent, R.W.X. They play some cool shit. I also love listening to archived shows of Sounds Eclectic from KCRW's website. It's a great way to hear new and very diverse material.

Isn't it great sharing and finding new music?!

Aside from Nine Inch Nails, I enjoy Android Lust for inspiration.

Thanks for the suggestions folks, I've been listening to the SomaFM site the past couple days, very cool- being from Kanada I wasn't aware of the underground radio- I did shoutcast a few time but not enough to really get into it.

Keep em coming!

When I'm feeling nostalgic- or, like this week, antsy- I especially like to listen here: http://www.playatunes.com/
(Especially since I don't actually own any Mutaytor stuff, and they have a few different sets linked.)

The "Going Home" link, which I like, has recently stopped working, but the guy whose stuff it is has that and more here: http://www.djjasonphilips.com/mixes/mixes.html
